Problem Area - Flood Vulnerability

Waterquality Monitoring

Created at: 18 Apr 2024

Description

This project formally investigates the severity of a flooding event by employing hydrological measurements to determine flood elevations and delineate potential areas of inundation. Observations indicate that floodwaters have reached a critical depth of two and six-tenths meters (2.6m) relative to the base of the embankment, a man-made structure designed to impede water flow (e.g., levee, dike). This depth is particularly significant as it nearly surpasses the elevation of the support columns of nearby residences, thereby highlighting the imminent threat of floodwaters breaching and entering the dwellings.
