Flood area - tunnel 29 may 2018 and 30 august 2015

Description

The tunnel was flooded and recieves a lot of water from the surroundings. possible the water from the canalbridge flows down via the Wijchenseweg to this area het Streekpad. The present pump capacity is not enough with big rain events.

Samenvatting (Dutch description)

Deze onderdoorgang spoor is tenminste 1x onder water gelopen bij de zeer heftige regenbui die in 1-uur vielen. De regenbuien raakten volgens de buienradar voornamelijk de westkant van nijmegen. De tunnel bleef geblokkeerd van 19-23 uur en auto's gingen illegaal via het fietspad het gebied oversteken. Het nabijgelegen fietspad ligt ca 1-2 m hoger dan de weg in de tunnel.
